16th April 2010 - Noda's Got Talent.......

Local taxi firm Noda are bursting onto our screens this month when they welcome successful ITV show Britain’s Got Talent to the North East on Saturday 17th April, 8pm. The popular company has received the greatest compliment by being asked to star in the introductory segment of the programme covering the Newcastle auditions.

This accolade is not undeserved, as the firm is the largest in Newcastle and has been taking the people of the region home for over 60 years. Their appearance is recognition of their dedication to providing an all-round excellent service, and they are grateful to be chosen as ambassadors of the North East in such a public manner.

Britain’s Got Talent began in 2007 and has followed the success of similar shows like The X Factor and Pop Idol. People tune in to see the people of Britain stand up in front of three judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan to showcase whatever talent they believe they have. Anything from pianists to singing dogs to jigging Greek men, the show knows no boundaries and continues to entertain the masses every year.

The family show is no stranger to Geordies’ personalities. Television favourites Ant and Dec present the variety of acts providing a humorous commentary to whoever may grace the stage.

On the topic of these familiar faces, the greeting was filmed on the set of well loved children’s drama Byker Grove. It was late August when Noda were asked to supply six ‘cheery’ taxi drivers from their team to say a few welcoming words. There was deliberation over the setting with the Angel of the North being the initial selection. However, the final location seemed more fitting considering the show’s hosts and their humble beginnings.

Delighted Noda manager, Eddy Binks, commented “It’s an absolute honour to be asked to represent Newcastle on Britain’s Got Talent. We all watch the show, and jumped at the chance to appear as an introduction to the city we all live and work in. The drivers were very excited on the day we filmed it, but I think some of them got stage fright on the day. I ended up leading the drivers in a chorus of the Beatles in one take!”

A prime candidate for the successful programme itself, Noda boasts a large array of talents. They can provide for large parties, wedding, proms and corporate events. They have a variety of vehicles from 5-7 seater taxis to highly sophisticated cars with wheel chair access available. The team may not be able to sing and dance, but they can certainly be quick, clean and dependable.

With the popularity of Susan Boyle, the style of Diversity and standards as high as Simon Cowell’s trousers, Noda have the winning formula. It’s a resounding ‘Yes’ for Noda Taxis from the customers. For more information visit www.noda-taxis.co.uk2. For bookings and quotations call 0191 222 1 888.
